This plant from San Jose CA. a gift from the friend. He claim by eating the bulb to help him sleeping well

Photo is too blurry to see details of leaves. Please ask your friend to send photo of “the bulb”. Does he consume them raw or cook? Also can he give us the plant’s description, i.e. how tall, flowers color, woody or herbaceous (non woody type plants), etc… With medicinal plants, we want to have a positive ID for you. Best wishes!
