Notes:
This grows in and around my flowers and bushes. My dogs think it is a delicacy. The leaves have a rough surface. It is very hard to pull up. Help…what is it?

We are surrounded by elm trees Lacebark , huge Siberian & an American Elm. How can we deal with the thousands of elm seedlings that sprout in the lawn and flower gardens. We vacuum when they fall but ineffective. I have pulled thousands by hand. Is there another solution?
Thank you

Today is mid-June 2024 and I think I have a Siberian Elm sapling — determined — in my high-rise Buckhead patio garden. I was hoping to share my photograph of it, but see no way of attaching it here. It has the elm’s typical serrulated leaf edges, but the leaves are short, and a bit squat ; not the longer, more slender elm leaves that seem to be associated with “American” elm. Is it possible I have a Siberian Elm thriving in my high-rise ( north-facing ) patio garden Mr. Reeves ?

Maybe Siberian elm (Ulmus pumila)? Check out these included links and see if you have a match. Click on images to enlarge. Best wishes! https://www.inaturalist.org/taxa/79463-Ulmus-pumila/browse_photos
