Notes:
Found in a patch of weeds on hillside facing West. It is no longer in bloom, but I think it stayed in bloom for about 3 weeks.

Maroon Carolina milkvine, (Matelea carolinensis) http://www.southeasternflora.com/view_flora.asp?plantid=372 The mateleas aren’t well known, and can’t be had commercially, so…. enjoy the ones that you have… I’ve been planting the (wild collected) seeds next to my garden fence, they are slow to grow from seed.
