Almost resembles oak leaves but cactus like at the same time grows bout a foot I found it bout 100 miles west of Dallas Texas we refer to it as a gotcha bush but don’t know it by its literal name oh and it itches when you touch it because of the spikes

Probably Cnidoscolus texanus. Texas Bull nettle. They say that you can eat the nuts… Related plants include Mala Mujer (Cnidoscolus angustidens) and 7 minute itch (Cnidoscolus stimulosus) They are all problem weeds, but yours seems to have a greater potential for food than ours in georgia (Cnidoscolus stimulosus)
