Saw this on Chunky Gal Trail at over 400o ft elevation growing in an open area on a road. On the route to Boteler Peak.

Thank you! Searching Alexanders Angelica I found a photo that appears to be the same as this plant. I see that one of its other names is Purple Stemmed Angelica. Perhaps the overgrown road it was growing on catches and holds enough water to help this plant thrive.
