Notes:
This plant is growing in my wooded backyard area. There are two or three of these plants in the same area, but I don’t see them elsewhere in the yard. The Plantsnap app on my phone suggests either Poison Sumac or something called Dogsbane. Branching is almost perpendicular. No visible flowers

It’s neither poison sumac nor dogbane. Without flowers & fruits to be certain, I’m wondering if this could be a species of Viburnum perhaps? Flowers & fruits are needed for this suggested ID. For now check out one in the genus, the Viburnum prunifolium. If this isn’t a match. When it blooms and you still don’t know, resubmit with photo of flowers.
