Notes:
So 4 weeks ago I cleared an area of my back yard that was overgrown and covered in leaves the last 10 years. Now I have some strange plants that I’m not sure what they are but might be poison sumac. In NJ very close to Pine Barrens and part of my property is wetlands. This particular area has also been very wet with the recent rains.

Thanks. A couple of hours after I submitted the question I found pics of sensitive fern that match what I now have growing in my yard. First pics I saw didn’t have red stems but later ones did.

Maybe a type of fern, possible sensitive fern (Onoclea sensibilis). Check it out and see if you have a match. Best wishes! https://www.wildflower.org/plants/result.php?id_plant=ONSE
