Notes:
I have new Zoysia sod in my back yard that was installed 4 weeks ago. The landscape contractor stripped off the old yard and laid the sod after prepping the soil. After two weeks these weeds started growing up thru the new sod. These weeds did exist in the old lawn, so they were not brought in with the top soil or the sod. I am not sure what is the name of this weed / wild grass and how to get rid of it. I am concerned about using a weeds control on new sod. What are my options?

Nut sedge… http://stonethegardener.tumblr.com/tagged/nut-sedge Terrible… I’ve been reading rave reviews for a product called “sedgehammer”, but it’s supposed to be expensive, and require multiple applications. Organic controls? None are especially effective. If I had this stuff in my own garden… I’d cover it with plastic, and cover that with carpet, and cover that with wood chips, and then start a container garden.
