Notes:
I live in southern Spain. I have this beautiful, if unruly, flowering shrub in the garden. I have no idea what it is called. I would like to curtail its freedom and keep it in one place but if I prune it back I loose all the lfowers. To know how to look after it I need to identify it.

This looks like either Zimbawee creeper (Podranea brycei) or Port St. John Creeper (Podranea ricasoliana). I can’t tell which is yours, but according to the included link the Zimbawee creeper flowers have hair. Check out the genus and see if you have a match. Best wishes! http://pza.sanbi.org/podranea-ricasoliana
