It even looks like a potato when cut. It is white, but quickly takes on a yellow color. I notice that this specimen has marks sort of like a pine cone on the upper part. I am a winter resident so I have no idea what season these may have been produced. I havenÕt seen any signs of rotting.

It is what we call an ‘Air Potato’ aka Dioscorea bulbifera. In the state of Florida tons of money are being spent to irradicate this invasive plant, yet gardeners keep sharing it. I had this plant escape in my yard, it grew to the top of a Sycamore tree and when the ‘potatoes’ dropped one would need a hard hart for protection. https://www.uniprot.org/taxonomy/35874
