Notes:
This huge tree is in the backyard of a house I purchased in June. The leaves range from 3-6 inches long. Some leaves turned yellow in the fall before dropping; the others turned brown. The tree hasn’t produced any flowers, fruits, seeds or nuts since June.

Check this site: http://www.missouriplants.com/Greenalt/Fagus_grandifolia_page.html The nuts are very small, and the trees don’t seem to produce many… when they drop, they disappear in the leaf litter.

The leaves look like a beech. The pics on google don’t quite match up… I still think it’s a beech nut… A tree that needs to be planted more…
