Notes:
Located in central South Carolina. 3/4″ diameter at base with 16″ segments. No thorns. Leaves were at top of vine in a 40 foot tall sycamore tree. Appears to be evergreen.

Looks like it might be Clematis armandii. You can see some shots of it on my website at http://www.botanicalstockphotos.com/photos-clematis-species-1425.htm . It’s pretty but also pretty vigorous.
