Both wild lettuce and evening primrose grow into a tall single stalk. A mature lettuce stalk breaks easily and has a milky sap. (I don’t recall what kind of sap e.primrose has.) The young leaf cluster of wild lettuce is like shown in your picture (thick with leaves). Possibly Lactuca canadensis. https://gobotany.newenglandwild.org/species/lactuca/canadensis/

It might be a weed named evening primrose. I pressed ur image & chose Google search image from the pop-up list. You look & see what you think. Google Images showed similar images at the URL, but to me EP looked closest. Do u think so? Gracious the link is an arm’s length. https://www.google.com/search?safe=active&tbs=simg:CAES2QIJehMckBWlUaIazQILEKjU2AQaBAgVCAQMCxCwjKcIGmEKXwgDEifOFtYWac0W4gvVFswWzxaHHtkL2DfaN7Myuy7ZN9s3jSLXN983nCAaMFyJzz_1l6vBDpzaQrm-b04es6EnnwAj_1ks0wA9sydyXEOOrHlcJdEs6ag_1qvnZmo0SAEDAsQjq7-CBoKCggIARIEK_1GqIQwLEJ3twQkauQEKGwoIaGF3a3dlZWTapYj2AwsKCS9tLzBnZHQwegohCg5zYW5kIGNvcmVvcHNpc9qliPYDCwoJL20vMDZyZF9nCiwKGGN1dGxlYWYgZXZlbmluZyBwcmltcm9zZdqliPYDDAoKL20vMDlnbl9tcgomChJ3b29kbGFuZCBzdW5mbG93ZXLapYj2AwwKCi9tLzA0anBxNTEKIQoNZmllbGQgdGhpc3RsZdqliPYDDAoKL20vMDQ3cWdqNww&q=hawkweed&tbm=isch&sa=X&ved=2ahUKEwjEgendrKjhAhVimK0KHYDFD8cQsw56BAgCEAE&biw=320&bih=489#imgrc=nKE5KrjUSfJVrM

Looks to me to be a species of wild lettuce. The stalk should keep growing, if it is.
