Thank you Laura, I was able to pin it down to some kind of Lilac. It was very fragrant. Flowers were dying out so I just pruned it back. Thanks for your help, I’d never seen a Lilac around here.

maybe something in the Syringa pubescens? Possible the Manchurian/Korean lilac (Syringa pubescens subsp. patula ‘Miss Kim’)? Check it out and see if you have a match.
