Not sure what the basic type of plant is called, but agave and aloe take roughly the same form as the leaves on this. The flowers, however, grow from the center in a tall stalk flanked with hanging white flowers. It’s got to love sun and be drought and heat resistant to grow this well in Georgia. Beautiful. What is it?

Looks like a species in the Yucca genus. According to sources, there are 4 different species that grow in GA: Yucca aloifolia(aloe yucca), Y. flaccida (weak-leaf yucca), Y. filamentosa (Adam’s needles) and Y.gloriosa (moundlily yucca). Best wishes! http://texnat.tamu.edu/about/brush-busters/yucca/
