I remember this plant from the woods I played in as a kid. Can anyone tell me what I’m forgetting?

Sunny Sue, Don’t worry, I only take photos of em’ and leave them as they were. We do grow our own herbs. Thanx for the warning, TJ – WildflowerMan

There are also plants in this family Smooth groundcherry (P. subglabrata) and are poisonous, unlike it’s tomatillo relative. Please check it out, if you are interested in eating it.

That’s it. I search for wildflowers in north GA and SE/coastal GA. This plant is a common garden plant yet I have seen it wild in the woods, in moist soil, in the area around Brunswick/St. Simons Island. I don’t think anyone would plant them there. Of course most domesticated plants were once wild. Thanx Stone for jarring my memory.
