    Growing Out The Box

Notes:

There are several of us growing this lemon tree in Georgia zone 8A but no one seems to know the name of the lemon tree. Searching the internet I noticed the leaves on a citrus tree you posted looks very similar. Hoping you can help identify because these citrus trees have survived 7 degrees in my area.

Thank,
Keith

To my eyes the tree’s trifoliate leaves point toward perhaps a citrus hybrid with the hardy orange (Citrus trifoliata) species. Regretfully I am unable to go further since there are few other species in the genus also has similar looking foliage and various tastes as well i.e. a sour citrus cross citrangedin and citrumelo. Also check out Walter’s link for another cold hardy citrus the citrangquat . Best you try folks the cold hardy citrus on Tropical Fruit Forum. You might need to provide picture of cross section of ripe fruit as well. Best wishes!
