I just found this on one of my Emerald Greens and am freaked out. What is it? It doesn’t look like the pictures of ‘bagworms’ on google. Help, I love these trees and I need to help them now.

We had these on a different type of tree – don’t know what kind, but after the worms come out and set up their cocoons all over the place, I manually removed the cocoons (with a stick) all around our patio, and they never came back.

Looks like a variety of bagworm to me. When I was growing up our solution when they were on our junipers was to pick them off manually (literally, by hand), drop into a paper bag, and toss them into a bonfire…
