Notes:
Maple tree planted several years ago has been thriving. But within the last 4-6 weeks, has lost leaves on the southern exposure. Cannot find pests or disease on limbs or leaves. Please advise what I should research to determine cause of leaf loss (and cure).

Timothy Doyle Unregistered says:
I have something very similar on one of my maples. The variety is “October Glory”, and the middle third of the tree is devoid of leaves. The bottom and top are full and lush. The tree is 35 ft. tall and about 20 years old. I see no signs of disease or insect damage. My other maples appear healthy. I began noticing it last year, and it’s gotten a lot worse. I live in Pike County.
