Quicklawn – No Good For Georgia
Q: Our lawn has mixed grasses with quite a few different weeds. We saw on the Internet a grass called “Quicklawn”. It is supposed to be green all year and hardy down to 20 degrees. Do you know anything about this grass?
A: Spring brings out the hucksters, touting miracle tomatoes, twenty-foot-a-year trees and no-care lawn grasses. “Quicklawn” and “CanadaGreen” grass mixtures contain perennial and/or annual ryegrass, Kentucky bluegrass and fine fescue among other grass species. None of them do well in Georgia, no matter what the claim of the marketers. Don’t waste your money.
