Weed killer spilled on shrub (holly) roots
Q: I had a little accident with either undiluted Weed-B-Gon or Roundup about 6 weeks ago. While I was behind my Robin hollies at the water spigot, the bottle turned over and about a quart of product went into the soil around the bushes. I ran water over it, trying to get it to flush out, and just hoped for the best. In the past couple of weeks, I’ve started seeing some damage on the bushes. They have been in place for 7 years. Do you think these will be able to survive?
A: From the characteristic leaf curling, I’m going to guess it was Weed B Gon that was spilled. All you can do is wait and see what happens.
I am really curious to know what does occur. If you could hold off on pruning and send me pictures occasionally, I would appreciate it.
