Spanish Moss – Control
Q: Is there a registered chemical for controlling Spanish moss in crapemyrtles?
A: Why do you want to control it in the first place? Spanish moss doesn’t hurt the crapemyrtles, it simply uses the branches as support. Spanish moss is actually kin to pineapples; it survives on the nutrients dissolved in rainwater. If it is objectionable to you, pull it out of the trees with a fishing pole and hang it in neighboring landscapes.
