Q: I must have been living under a rock. Recently I found out that there are re-blooming azaleas. Then, last week, I learned that there are re-blooming iris’s. Do you have any information?

A: There is even a society for reblooming iris, www.rebloomingiris.com! Reblooming iris are able to send up bloom stalks without being vernalized (chilled) in winter. This ability is affected by soil fertility and night temperatures as well. Several on-line garden catalogs offer reblooming iris but do research before you buy. Some varieties only repeat in a certain part of the country.
