Pressurized Cans of Pesticide – How to Get Rid of Them

Q: I have several pressurized spray cans of pesticides. How do I get rid of them?

A: Pesticide expert Paul Guillebeau says if the sprays can be used, you could give them to a neighbor who needs them. Alternatively, check with local municipalities to see if there are any plans for a pesticide/hazardous waste collection day. If it isn’t practical to give away the products and there is no collection opportunity, double-bag the cans in heavy duty plastic bags, to reduce risk to the trash collectors, and put them in your garbage.
