Crapemyrtle – Shorter Types
Q: I have three crepe myrtles in my front yard and I prune them every year, following your recommendations, but the one next to my garage has just gotten too large. After the new branches grow out again in the spring, it will be over my roof and block the security lights for my driveway.
I’d like to bring it down to a manageable size.
A: I see what you mean. Although you could saw this one low and probably keep it low with pruning every two weeks in summer, planting a shorter one would be less maintenance in the long run
