Calcium Carbonate- Usefulness
Q: I have stopped taking calcium carbonate as a nutritional supplement for my bones and now take a better form, calcium citrate. Is there anything that I can do for my yard with the leftover bottles of calcium carbonate? My thrifty Scotch nature doesn’t want to waste it.
A: Calcium carbonate is the exact same stuff we call garden lime. Folks spread it on lawns and flower beds to make ^them^ healthy too. You can scatter the pills wherever you like. Liming action is determined by the weight of the material, so I doubt you have enough to do much soil sweetening, but the plants will appreciate any calcium they get!
