Bulbs – Relocating
Q: I am going to be moving to a new home in February. Is it possible to dig up daffodil and tulip bulbs now and relocate them to my new location?
A: It’s a piece of cake to move them. Get some cardboard boxes from a liquor store and line the interior of each with a garbage bag. Jab drainage holes in the bag with a wooden pencil. Dig up the bulbs in big clumps and put them into the boxes without removing the soil. Keep them outdoors, water occasionally if it doesn’t rain, and plant the bulbs in a similar environment at the new house when you have a chance. They’ll never realize they have a new mailing address.
