Flea – Control Indoors
Q: What can I use in the house for flea control with a sixteen month old baby present? The dog is treated and the yard is going to be but I want to get ahead of them indoors before there is a problem.
A: I’d rather you not use any insecticide indoors. The best course is a daily vacuuming, which will remove any eggs and larvae that drop from your dog. Outdoors, apply insecticide every month the areas where your dog loafs: around the food bowl, along the fence, under the steps, etc. Ask your vet about the flea control medicine/drops that control fleas systemically.
Flea traps that use a small light and sticky glue will catch adult fleas indoors. Watch out, though. It will be a real mess if the baby crawls to it and touches the adhesive surface!
