Dwarf Schefflera – Blooming

Q: Can you tell me what this growth on my plant is? Should it be cut off? The plant has never done this before.
A: Your dwarf schefflera, Schefflera arboricola, is flowering!
If you want to experiment, once the flowers are open, tap the flower stems with a pencil or chopstick. This will scatter pollen within the flowers and you may later get berries on your plant.
