Grape – Herbicide Injury
Q: Can you tell me what is going on with my grape leaves?
A:University of Georgia plant pathologist Elizabeth Little says “This looks like 2,4-D type damage, possibly drift from nearby lawns, pastures, hay, or corn fields. Grapes are very sensitive to this type of herbicide and 2,4-D is prone to vaporization, drift, and uptake by roots if applied to surrounding turf. The damage affects new growth. Yield can be reduced during the current year and possibly the following year depending on the degree of damage.”
