Pecan – Flood Tolerance
Q: I want to plant pecan trees in a low lying area that floods every eight to ten years. The water can get as deep as one meter and stays there for two to four weeks. Can a pecan tree survive in such high water for so long?
A: Pecan trees are somewhat flood tolerant, but the trees’ resistance to the water depends on when and how long the water stands.
