Cabbage Aphids – Control
Q: I picked cabbage from my garden this morning and the substance is on the underside of the outside leaves. Is it safe to eat?
A: I think they’re cabbage aphids. Our winter cold wasn’t enough to kill them this year.
You can wash them off the leaves or soak the leaves in salt water to make the insects float to the top.
Trying to kill them with insecticide is difficult because they cluster so deeply in the plant.
