Lawn – Flooded Occasionally
Q: I have an area that floods to about 0.25inch depth occasionally, to add
top soil and level would be a huge task
Is there an evergreen lawn seed that is water resistant you would
recommend?
A: Fescue is our only evergreen turf grass, but it doesn’t much care for saturated soil.
There are so many factors that determine how a grass reacts to flooding; it’s hard to say how fescue will fare. If the spot only floods “occasionally”, maybe the soil is too hard-packed to support grass growth…causing any failures you’ve had in the past.
