Frogs – Buying

Q: My dad has returned to live on the farm he grew up on in eastern Kentucky. He is a man of few wants but recently he has been complaining about the lack of frogs on the farm now. There is an active creek on the property so I was wondering if it is possible to order some baby frogs for his house-warming gift?

If you are traveling to visit your father soon, ask among your pool-owning friends if they often find frog eggs in their pool. Most will answer in the affirmative. You can collect the eggs and take them with you in the time-honored transport method: a quart jar.
