Centipedegrass vs St. Augustine grass
Q: I have a question that I need your help on. I’m trying to determine if my yard has centipede or St. Augustine grass. I was wondering what route to take to go about finding out for sure which one it is?
A: I knew I’d need a comparison picture someday!
Both centipedegrass and St. Augustine grass spread on top of the ground via stolons. Both have leaves that turn at right angles to the creeping stem.
However, centipedegrass leaves are somewhat smaller, and more pointed, than those of St. Augustine grass.
