Notes:

This Japanese Maple tree was planted in mid-March in an open front yard receiving full sun all day. The discolorations started appearing about two weeks ago. It receives about one-half inch of water every 5 days and has had an application of 13-13-13. What is causing this and what should I do about it?

    I like to add that if this isn’t Japanese beetles damage, you can try Diagnostic Service under The Tree Disorder Troubleshooting tab. You may need to send samples to a lab for analysis. The service is $15. No fee for insects identification. Recommend contacting your local Agricultural Extension from the included link below.

    I can’t tell what wrong with your tree. I’m wondering with these lacy leaves appearance might be from Japanese beetles? Check out these included links for more information of this garden pest.
