Most Distant Radio Listeners
Recently I got an intriguing email:
“I’m a long time listener from Cleveland, Ga, currently assigned to camp Remagen in Tikrit, Iraq. I am very fortunate that I am able to listen to your show via internet every Saturday. The attached picture is of my sunflowers that I have grown over the past couple of months. I also have morning glories and poppies coming along but I’m not sure how well they will do once the heat really kicks in, (it is only 110 F right now). Love the show and will send more pics if anything else blooms.
Best Regards,
JG
I replied:
Great to hear from you!
Coincidentally, on the same day I got an email from Allan Schrum, Theresa’s husband, who is in Penang, Malaysia doing computer work.
I did a quick lookup of the distances between Atlanta and both of your cities and found
Distance between Atlanta, Georgia, United States and Penang, Malaysia, as the crow flies: 9726 miles
Distance between Atlanta, Georgia, United States and Tikrit as the crow flies: 6656 miles
So even though you weren’t the most distant listener on Saturday, we can safely say you were in the top 2!!!!
