Notes:
This is a plant which is about 8’W x 9’T and has not been pruned in quite some time. It has an obtrusive appearance in the yard and I was curious how and when I might go about in reducing the bulk. I have all the necessary tools, but did not want to start without some guidance. It may not be a plant that can take pruning, please advise.

Maybe a cultivar of Sawara cypress (Chamaecyparis pisifera)? This might be ‘Filifera Aurea’ (threadleaf Sawara cypress)? This can take pruning, although it’s a type of evergreen and the growth rate is slower than other deciduous woody plants. Copy & paste the included link below for more information.
