Can I remove tall shoots from blueberry limbs?
Q: Our blueberry bushes have never put on growth like this. Is the abundance of rainfall the reason? I have begun to cut these shoots out—I want to be able to reach the berries!—but am wondering if this is the right thing to do. What do you think?
A: This is normal behavior for blueberries that want to be tall bushes. You can remove the shoots whenever you see them.
If you plan to plant more, read the label carefully to find the projected height of the mature blueberry bush.
