Notes:

I have 8 of these shrubs. The landscaper planted but didn’t know what it was. All now have no leaves thanks to my deer. He was told deer resistant. Do you know what it is?

Thanks for the feedback! I don’t have any experience using “Picture this app”. If it correctly identified from the above photo with only leaves, it would be impressive. But as you stated , it’s unlikely the gardener would planted blueberry. One of my guesses would be Virginia sweetspire (Itea virginica). But closeups of leaves , twigs & leaf buds are needed for this speculation ID.
On deer resistant plants. According to the second included link “no plant is deer proof” Plants are rated by the level damage by deer.
Copy & paste the included link below for images of Virginia sweetspire, click on images to enlarge. Best wishes!

This pix was taken mid August. Picture this ap says blueberry but I really don’t think gardener would have planted that since we have deer. It’s just starting to get leaves now in March

From this the plant’s details are too far to tell. Please resubmit with closeups of the stem, buds of emerging leaves & flower (if there are any). Also please tell us when this picture was taken. Best wishes!
