Fertilizer – Using Old and Lumpy
If you have partially filled bags and boxes of fertilizer in your garage or garden shed, there is no need to throw it away. Even though the almost-dissolved label reads “Azalea/Camellia Food”, your fescue lawn will appreciate having some next month.
Even though the houseplant fertilizer bag is filled with blue goo, you can still dissolve it in a water bucket and sprinkle it over your pansies now. Fertilizer does not “go bad”. If yours is lumpy, use a hammer to beat it into granules and have it ready for springtime.
