With the plant’s leaves are alternate and their shape, I’m still leaning toward Populus genus. Scrolling down the included link for images leaves of a species young cotton sapling with red veins & stems. Not having this specimen in person, I could be wrong. Please give us an update as this grows more mature, if this isn’t Populus. Best wishes!

Maybe a cottonwood species (Populus)? Possible the Lombardy poplar (Populus nigra)? Check out the included link and see if you have a match. Click on images to enlarge. Best wishes!
