Notes:
What is the name of this plant? It is growing on my bank and I would like to get rid of it. It has a very invasive root system and it is hard to get all of the roots to kill the plant. I have tried to spray it and it will not die. It has a small lilac flower on it and it is blooming right now. Thanks, Donna

Appreciate the follow-up photo. Maybe a species in the betony genus (Stachys)? Possible the Florida betony/rattlesnake weed (S. floridana)? Check it out and see if you have a match. Click on images to enlarge. The second link is for eradication methods. Best wishes! https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stachys_floridana
