Notes:
We have these two trees in our backyard, one of them make the brown type berry/nut type things and the other tree makes the reddish berry type things…

Thanks, Laura. It was a lazy question, based only on the large flaring blossom-ends(?) appearing on a couple of the fruits – without looking up other shots of persimmons on their branches. Jim

Hi Jim, The fruits details of the first one to my eyes, they appear in cluster with long fruit-stalks while persimmon’s short fruit-stalk with over size calyx and hangs close to the branches. More details of winter buds, tree trunk, the inside of fruit & seeds, etc… would help us in narrowing down. Best wishes! Laura

I can’t see these fruits details clearly to call. Also without their leaves & flowers to help narrow down, I can’t tell if these are from crabapple (Malus), hawthorn (Crataegus) & red chokeberry (Aronia arbutifolia)? You could cut the fruits open to see what the seeds look like and resubmit with photos showing the cut opened fruits & the seeds. Or comparing them to those on these include links below. Best wishes! Link to red chokeberry’s leaves, fruits & seeds. https://www.flickr.com/photos/ophis/5044291594
