Notes:
Purchased in Fresno back in 2009. At that time, the tag read ‘Rainbow Bursts’. Location is commmunity of Mountain Gate about 9-10 miles above Redding, CA and east across the I-5 freeway from Shasta Lake City, as the name suggests, the northern tip of the Sacramento Valley. Zone 9, brutally hot and dry in the very summer with snow possible in the winter. This tough little beauty has been largely neglected for the past 4-5 years and survived snow last February.

Maybe something in the Echinopsis or one of its hybrids perhaps? Internet search for ‘Rainbows Bursts’ yielded a different looking Echinopsis hybrid, the Echinobivia.
