Notes:
1- What is this bushy perennial? Blooming now, pictures taken today. About 3-4 feet high. Canes sprout from ground to form bush-like shape. Pink flowerheads composed of many tiny flowers. 2- Do we prune it? If so, when and how much? It looks kinda junky by the end of the summer thru fall/winter.

I agree. Also known as Japanese Meadowsweet, Maybush ‘Anthony Waterer’. Looks like I can prune and/or deadhead any time it starts to look raggedy. Also looks like I should prune it 6″ every fall after leaves drop. Finally, appears to be somewhat invasive, spreading by seed.
