Notes:
My mother took this photo in Bainbridge, GA. It is in her front yard which she recently moved to. She said there were three (overly hyper puppy took out two). And would love to know more about this beautiful flower.

Looks like a species in the Curcuma genus that blooms before the leaves. Sorry, I can’t tell which one this is. Possible C. elata (giant plum ginger)(?). Check out the link below for another the species, the C. petiolata. Best wishes! https://davesgarden.com/guides/pf/showimage/20248/
