Notes:
What is this plant? Seems to be growing in a variety of sizes, from brush to tree around the yard. This photo is of one in the north facing flowerbed.

Your shrub has opposite leaves, the branches appear to be opposite as well also with the light color trunks. These seem to match those of privets. Flowers will confirm or rule out the ID for you. If this is privet, I can’t tell which species this is. When it blooms and you still don’t know, make new post with flowers & fruits photos. Japanese privet would be my guess as well. Everywhere, invasive.
