Notes:
This tree had a branching trunk and one of the main trunks recently fell as it was mostly hollow and I had the rest of the tree taken down. The photo of the leaves is from what has sprouted from the old trunk. I have been trying to identify and it fits most of the description for an elm but I read that elm leaves are uneven at the base of the leaf and these are pretty symmetrical.

It never bloomed like a cherry tree but it was a big, old tree in the far end of the yard that I didn’t pay much attention to. I don’t recall ever seeing any fruit or blooms. But the wood is reddish like cherry wood. Are there wild cherry trees that don’t bloom? Also some of the info I have seen on wild cherry trees say they have horizontal “stripes” on the bark and this tree doesn’t have that. Maybe black cherry?
