If it is Chinaberry, kill it before it makes seed. For 40 years I had one beautiful Chinaberry. Five years ago, still one. The weather had not been right for germination, I guess. Now I have hundreds and neighbors places have them too.

Hi Walter, I had thought about the Chinaberry also, but its leaves look twice compound at least with the examples shown on the Internet, while to my eyes the plant’s leaves above appear to have once compound. Also I don’t have enough experiences with Chinaberry seedling’s stages to go further. Again, I’m purely speculating, You could be right and I could be incorrect. The included link below is for Chinaberry leaflets. Best wishes Walter! http://research.pomona.edu/bfs/files/2012/11/Melia_azedarach-110112-0018.jpg

Ha! Laura735 may be onto something! But since this >unexpectedly< popped up, my guess would be Chinaberry, Melia azedarach. Same family, different genus.

Appreciate these excellent follow up images C Puente. The alternate branching rules out Biden genus alright. I’m speculating that it might be a sapling of the Neem tree (Azadirachta Indica). But until this plant matures and the trunk is becoming woody, I’m unable to go further. Please give us an up date as the plant grows. Check out the included link below for an image of Neem leaves. Click on image to enlarge. Thank you & best wishes! http://circleforwards.blogspot.com/2013/01/neem-leaf-azadirachta-indica.html
